Q and A with Steve Berg: Local Leaders Check Out the Competition in Portland
The InterCity Leadership Visit, organized by the Minneapolis Regional and Saint Paul Area Chambers of Commerce, goes to a different city each year. What are these cities doing well? How do they emphasize their strengths? What can we learn from them? Last fall they went to Portland.
The InterCity Leadership Visit group is made up of approximately 90 Twin Cities’ civic, business and nonprofit leaders, including:

What Is Mix Land Use?
This refers to the mingling of several types of buildings in the same general location. For example, a blend of apartments and single-family homes might be located adjacent to shops, offices, movie theaters, schools, cafes, parks and transit stations. Within mixed-use neighborhoods, there are usually mixed-use buildings—buildings that might have retail on the main level, for example, with parking below and offices, housing or hotel rooms above.
